Quotes:
This will be your first race at the speedway in Mexico. How
do you prepare for it?
“I’ve never raced south of the border before, but I can’t
wait. It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve got road
course experience, just not in Mexico. I’ve talked with a few drivers
who’ve already raced there and they’ve given me a few tips and
tricks to remember, but most of what I’ll learn will come from hopping
in the FreeCreditReport.com Ford and getting some seat time.”
You’ve said on several occasions that you enjoy road course
racing. What is it that appeals to you?
“The thing that I love about road courses is that so much of the team’s
performance is determined by the driver. We go to a lot of tracks that
the car does all the work and the driver doesn’t have as much say in
the outcome. At road courses, though, your finish has to do with how
well you can turn the wheel. You don’t have to worry about aero-push
or having your fenders banged in; it’s mostly about how well the driver
can get through the course.
“It’s going to be a ton of fun. Left turns, right turns,
chicanes – it’s nice to have a variety that really tests
your skills.”
Are you excited about your first race at Autodromo
Hermanos Rodriguez?
“I’ve heard nothing but great things about racing there. It
sounds like the track is so much fun to drive. So many fans come out
to the event and support the race. The fans from Mexico are so passionate
and get so keyed up about the race. It’s great to be a part of
an event like that. We’ll be bringing a brand new car for this
race and I’m really excited about driving it. I think we’re going
to have a great showing for the FreeCreditReport.com team and hopefully have
a fiesta in Victory Lane.”
