Ron Drake

Ron enters his 25th year in motorsports this season.  The Redding, CA native serves as the  shock specialist for Team Rensi Motorsports.  This is his third season with the organization.  Ironically, Ron worked in the Team Rensi Motosports building over a decade ago with Bahari Racing.

Ron has had many duties in his 25 year career.  He has been a mechanic, a shop foreman, a fabricator and a shock specialist. 

During the races, Ron sits atop the Team Smithfield Pit Box to assist Crew Chief Chris Wright.  Two sets of eyes are always better than one during the Nationwide Series races.

Back in the start of his NASCAR career, Ron worked at Tri-Star Motorsports,  The driver of that team?  None other than the late Bobby Hamilton, Sr.  father of current Team Smithfield driver, Bobby Hamilton, Jr.   Ron has also worked for Bahari, Tyler Jet Motorsports, MB2, Fitz-Bradshaw Racing and Glynn Motorsports.
